A Motivational Talk By Former US Indoor Middle Distance World Record Holder Dave Patrick Venue: Clonliffe Harriers Bar This Thursday August 23 – 8.30pm Admission Free Irish athletes and coaches are invited to a Motivational Talk by former US middle-distance star athlete and former indoor world record holder Dave Patrick in the bar of Clonliffe Harriers this Thursday evening at 8.30pm. A former track & field captain at Villanova University, Dave Patrick was one of only two American athletes to beat the legendary Jim Ryun. Dave won the 1500m at the 1968 US Olympic Trials and held world indoor records at 880 and 1000yds. He was Villanova's first American sub four minute miler and ran 3: 56.8 when winning his sixth straight IC4A's mile championship. Dave's Motivational Talk- "GET TO THE OTHER SIDE"- "Extraordinary performances can only be realized once one has mastered the art of mental preparation" - offers Irish athletes and coaches a rare opportunity to hear one of America's best all-time athletes deliver his widely acclaimed presentation. Dave has excelled in sales and sales management positions with Xerox, Kodak and Canon in the USA. He has delivered Motivational Talks in many corporate settings and colleges in America. The first seventy people to arrive for Dave Patrick's "Motivational Talk" this Thursday night will receive a gift of a special souvenir T-shirt to mark the occasion. During his stay in Dublin Dave will be a guest of Villanova graduates and former Clonliffe Harriers athletes Des McCormack and Frank Murphy.
