GloHealth National Road Relays highlights athletics week ahead

Road Relays and University Championships highlight week ahead

The GloHealth National Road Relays and the Irish Universities Track and Field Championships highlight this week's action.

The road relays take place in their regular home around the roads of Raheny in Dublin with strong teams from around the country expected to compete. 3:55 miler John Travers (Donore Harriers) is among those who will compete on the day as will Rio Olympic marathon qualifier Mick Clohisey for host club Raheny Shamrock.

Ireland's top students will be competing in Morton Stadium at the Irish University Track and Field Championships with the likes of Marcus Lawler (SLOT/IT Carlow) and Jenna Bromell (Emerald/UL) set to star.

The Boston marathon takes place next Monday.
