Race walker Rob Heffernan continued his comeback from injury with a fine 3rd place finish in a 10km grand prix race in Krakow Poland. Heffernan led the race from the gun but was caught with 3km remaining by eventual winner Ilya Markov of Russia who won in 39:56. European 20km champion Paquillo Fernandez passed Heffernan near the finish to take second in 40:00 with Rob posting a very encouraging 40:16 in 3rd place. He continues his comeback with a 5km race in Spain next week and hopes to do a 20km race in the Scandinavian championships in Denmark in October.
