Race walker Rob Heffernan continued his good form with a 4th place finish in a grand prix race in Spain on Sunday. In a blanket finish he was just 2 seconds behind winner Paquillo Fernandez of Spain who won the gold medal in the 20km in Gothenburg. He finished ahead of Ilya Markov of Russia who won the 10km grand prix race in Poland last week. Markov finished in 5th place with Athens Olympic champion Ivanic Brugnetti in 6th place. Heffernan's time was 20 mins 02 secs. Rob will hope his form over the shorter distances will transfer to the longer 20K distance when he competes in Copenhagen next month. Jamie Costin of Waterford finished in 13th place in 21 mins 47 secs.
