Thomas Maguire of Co. Fermanagh will represent Ireland in the 100k World Cup in Misari, South Korea on 8 October. Thomas set a new Irish 100k record of 7.42.24 in the European Championships in June and has since undertaken a very strict training regime, encompassing 40-mile training runs and marathon-distance preparation 'speed' races. He will be seeking to improve upon his Irish record and earn a top 30 placing in the gruelling 62.1-mile road race - the pinnacle event in the International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) calendar. On 8 October, race updates and analysis can be found at the IAU website - http://www.iau.org.tw
