Irish Athletes Set Off For Youth Olympics

The Irish Youth Olympic Team leave today for the games in Nanjing, China. The team will travel as a group arriving into Hong Kong on 8th August for the beginning of a Pre YOG training camp. The team will then fly to Nanjing with the Opening Ceremony on 16th of August. 

The Pre-YOG training camp will be held at the Hong Kong Sports Institute, a world class facility in the Sha Tin area. This was chosen following a site visit and the best Sports science and medical advice

The games run from the 16th of August until the 28th of August.

Athletics will be represented by Adam King (Hammer), Roseanna McGuckian (200m), Louise Shanahan (800m), Eoin Sheridan (Discus), Michaela Walsh (Shot Putt).
