Irish champions head to Finland for ECCC Track and Field Championships

The Irish national track and field champions from 2018 this weekend will compete in Group B of the European Clubs Track and Field Championships in Tampere, Finland.

The national champions Clonliffe Harriers compete in a group of ten teams which includes very strong teams from Belgium, Italy and Israel to name but three.

Clonliffe have a strong team competing which includes national javelin champion Stephen Rice, Cathal Doyle who last weekend ran the European U/23 qualifying time over 1500 of 3.42.64 and London 2012 Olympian Luke Lennon-Ford.

Ireland will be represented in the Women’s event by 2018 National League champions St. Abban’s A.C.  The St. Abban’s team includes Cliodna Manning and Nessa, Ruby and Niamh Millet to name but a few. St. Abban’s will race teams from Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands in a group comprising nine teams on Saturday in Finland.
