Eric Favors (Raheny Shamrocks AC) took the 2 year old Irish Indoor record with 18.91m performance at the Clemson Orange & Purple Meet (South Carolina) on January 11th.  His competition series was 18.35/18.91/X/X/18.52/18.52.

The 23 year old who is in college at University of South Carolina threw slightly further in 2019 but was not eligible to compete for Ireland at that stage, so this performance overtakes Sean Breathnach’s (Galway City Harriers AC) 18.30m performance from 2018.

Eric has been training extremely well this winter with some big PR’s in the gym and some 20m+ training throws, so this performance was very much predicted and his expectations for 2020 are very optimistic.
