Day 2 underway

Day 2 is underway at the European Junior Athletics Championships in Eskilstuna and Alice Akers has gotten the Irish challenger undeway in Group A of the women's hammer.  62.00m or the 12 best throwers advance to the final. You can follow the live results here

Kirwan and Purcell tackle the 800m heats

Cillian Kirwan going in heat 1 of the 800m against one of the favourites in Great Britain’s Kyle Langford. Kicking off at 11am, the first four in each heat advance to the semi-finals along with four fastest losers. Harry Purcell goes in heat 2 against another of the pre-championship favourites in Russia’s Konstantin Tolokonnikov. You can get the startlists here

Behan and McKenna look to pass first hurdle

Matthew Behan and Garbhan McKenna go in the 110m hurdles to round out the morning programme. The first three in each heat and the next four fastest qualify. You can check out their heats here
