The Irish relay team for the Women’s 4x400m relay final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest tonight has been confirmed by team management.
Sophie Becker (Raheny Shamrocks A.C.), Roisin Harrison (Emerald A.C.), Kelly McGrory (Tir Chonaill A.C.) and Sharlene Mawdsley (Newport A.C.) will race in that order once again following yesterday’s heroic heat performance in the Hungarian capital, where they finished fourth in a time of 3.26.18, just over one tenth of a second outside the national record.
The team take to the track at 8:47pm in the final event of what has been a memorable championships.
