A team of over 80 Irish schools athletes will be travelling to Cardiff on the 19th of July for the SIAB schools international event. Both Boys and Girls will be competing in the 21 event programme and will compete against top schools athletes from England, Wales and Scotland. All of the athletes are in the intermediate category which is 17 and under. The athletes were chosen by their performances in the Tailteann Games and from their previous school event performances.
For most of the athletes this will be their first taste of international elite competition and hopefully will be a stepping stone to further athletic success.
After an impressive international debut at the European Youth Olympic Trials Elizabeth Morland (Dunshaughlin CC) and Keith Marks (Ashbourne CS) will have a strong chance at medalling in their respective events.
