Fresh from interviewing the stars of Irish athletics at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham, David Gillick will swap the microphone for his runners on September 8th as he takes to the start line of the A&L Goodbody ALG5K Corporate Team Challenge.
With just a handful of team entries remaining, Corporate Ireland is being called to the start line for one of the highlights of the business and running calendar.
Taking place in Dublin City Centre on Tuesday, September 8th, the ALG5K is delivered by Athletics Ireland in partnership with title sponsor A&L Goodbody and will once again bring thousands of professionals together for an evening of running, team building and healthy competition.
Following the sell-out success of the 2025 event, businesses are being encouraged to secure their remaining places before entries close.
David Gillick Swaps the Mic for His Runners
Two-time European indoor champion and Olympian David Gillick returns as ALG5K ambassador for 2026 – and this year he’ll be joining participants on the start line.
Having spent the past week in Birmingham interviewing Ireland’s European Championship stars, Gillick will swap the microphone for his runners as he takes on the 5K alongside teams from businesses across the country.
“The ALG5K is a brilliant example of how businesses can promote health, teamwork and balance in a really positive way,” said Gillick.
“It’s about switching off from the desk, reconnecting with colleagues and enjoying the buzz of achieving something together. Whether you’re chasing a PB or just crossing the line, this event is for everyone.”
Where Business Meets Wellbeing
The ALG5K has established itself as one of Ireland’s leading corporate participation events, combining workplace wellbeing with the opportunity for colleagues to come together outside the office environment.
From seasoned runners chasing fast times to colleagues taking on their first 5K, the event is designed to be inclusive and accessible to all levels.
Teams of four compete across male, female and mixed categories, with chip timing ensuring every performance counts. Individual entries are also welcome.
