There will be live results through the weekend HERE and a live stream on Sunday from 11:45am

The first weekend of the Irish Life Health National Juvenile Indoor Championships continues a busy year so far for young athletes. It will be a quick transition of surfaces for some of the athletes who competed in the All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships in Mallusk two weeks ago.

Day 1 sees Ireland’s leading clubs compete in the relays from U12-U19. The U12s and U13s will compete in 4x100m relays while U14 upwards compete in the 4x200m.

Individual competition on day 1 sees the shot put U19, U18 and U17 for boys and girls; pole vault U15, U16, U17, U18 and U19 girls; U14 and U15 long jump for boys and girls; and high jump U16, U17, U18 and U19.

Multi-event star Reece Ademola (Leevale) competes in the U15 boys high jump and long jump while Michael Farrelly (Portmarnock A.C.) will be a keen contender in the boys U16 60m and long jump.

Lucas Moylan (Naas A.C.) competes in the boys U17 High Jump having cleared 1.93m already this indoor season with Joseph McEvoy (Nenagh Olympic A.C.) down to compete. McEvoy is also entered in the long jump where Darragh Miniter (St. Marys (Clare) A.C.) should be in contention. Nelvin Appiah (Longford) is entered in multiple events including the shot put and high jump in the same age group.

There is a Stacked U18 60m including Aaron Sexton (North Down) and Joseph Finnegan Murphy (Dublin Striders). James Kelly (Finn Valley) should be competitive in the U18 shot put.

Daire Finn (Celtic DCH) and Niall Harvey (SLOT) are among those listed for the U19 1500m. Harvey is also listed for the 400m and has a good turn of speed where Fionn Carroll (Tallaght) and Luke Morris (Newbridge) will be among the favourites.

Sprint star David McDonald (Menapians) is in the U19 60m while Ryan Carthy Walshe (Adamstown) and Dion Ryan (Waterford) will provide quality in the U19 high jump. Daniel Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo) is in the long jump with Darragh Gaffney (North Westmeath) one of the favourites in the shot put.

Ailbhe Doherty (Ennis Track A.C.) is equally adept over the sprints and middle distance and is among those listed in the girls U15 60m. Jennifer Hanrahan (Bros Pearse) is among a big entry in the U15 girls long jump.
