Kate O’Connor (Dundalk St Gerard's AC) has smashed the Irish indoor pentathlon record with a superb two days of competition at the World Indoor Tour in Clermont, resulting in the Commonwealth Games silver medallist walking away with a final points total of 4,396 (3rd place).

It continues a super 12 months for the Dundalk multi-event star who last August claimed a heptathlon silver medal for Team Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, amassing a total of 6233 points which included 3 personal bests over the two day event schedule (only 64 points off her NR).

Today’s record breaking display see’s O’Connor take over from the national record of 4214 set by Grace McKenzie in Birmingham in 2019 .
