Pia Langton (Kilkenny City Harriers) has qualified for the semi-finals of the women’s 800m at the World U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Langton finished fourth to secure automatic qualification to the next round with a 2:07.06 clocking in heat four.
She will run in the next round of the 800m on day 3 of the championship.
Saoirse Fitzgerald (Lucan Harriers) was unlucky not to progress, finishing one place outside of the automatic slots in a slow heat.
With a 2:10.73 clocking, Fitzgerald’s time won’t be fast enough to progress on this occasion.
