Last call for Sonia 5k
The Euromedic Sonia 5k takes place in Sonia O'Sullivan's hometown of Cobh this Saturday at 6pm and it promises to be a wonderful evening celebrating her gold medal run over 5,000m at the World Championships in Gothenburg in 1995.
The final touches are being put in place and there has been the welcome news that Queen B Athletics will be providing the women's prizes while Keen Sports will provide the men's prizes. You can read more about Queen B Athletics below. Online entries close on Wednesday and you can register on the event website and find out more details here. You will still be able to register for the race at the Commodore Hotel on Friday night from 7-9pm and also on the day at the Cobh Community College on the day from 3-5:30pm.
The Sonia mile challenge takes place at 4pm and don't forget all finishers of both events get the unique replica gold medal that Sonia won in 1995.
