The Lee Strand Riocht International in Castleisland on Monday saw some high quality performances.The men's mile was the highlight with one of the worlds fastest ever milers Laban Rotich, Kenya winning ( 4.00.63 ) from his compatriot Paul Korir.Best of the Irish was Martin Fagan 4th in 4.04.92. The women's 200 metres was a classy affair with Brianna Glenn USA winning in 22.92 (+2.7 )from Joice Maduaka UK 23.21 and Ciara Sheehy 3rd in 23.23 with Joanne Cuddihy 4th in 23.45. These are excellent times all round. Paul McKee had a busy night winning the 400 in 47.06 in a tight finish from Antoine Burke 47.09 and then in the 200 he finished 2nd to John Woods USA ( 20.3 H ) in 20.7 with Gary Ryan 3rd in the same time and Darragh Graham 4th in 20.8. The latter finished 2nd in the 100 in 10.82 ahead of Jer O'Donoghue 10.90. Orla Drumm had a good run over 800 finishing 4th in 2.07.87 while a welcome comeback in the discus came from local athlete Eoin Leen with 52.40metres for 3rd. In Athens Derval O'Rourke was 5th in the 100 metres hurdles in 13.02 ( +2.3 ) while James Nolan had a season's best in the 1500 metres in 3.37.96 . Another seasons best came from Roisin McGettigan with a 9.55.22 for the 3000 metres steeplechase
