Derval O'Rourke sets new NR and wins silver tonight! Derval ran 12.72 but had an anxious wait with Kirsten Bolm as the officials decided who to give the silver medal to. Both have now been awarded the same time but Derval takes the coveted silver medal behind Suzanna Kallur. (19:01pm) Deirdre Ryan bows out of the final managing just 1.84m on her third attempt. Conditions are not the best in Gothenburg this evening following a heavy thunderstorm this afternoon. (18:24pm) Derval O'Rourke runs 12.94 to qualify for the final which will take place at 6:50pm. The race finally got away after 2 faulty starts. (17:23pm) Her time ranks her 5th fastest going in to the final later this evening behind Suzanna Kallur(SWE), Kirsten Bolm(GER), Glorie Alozie(ESP) and Adrianna Lamalle(FRA). (17.33) Aoife Byrne runs 4:16.07 to finish 14th in her semi-final and is unfortunately out of contention for a place in the final. (10:02am) Photo courtesy of Tim O'Dowd of irishrunner.com
