Mark English to Take on World's Best in Marrakech

European 800m bronze medallist Mark English (UCD AC) has been selected to represent Europe at the IAAF Continental Cup in Marrakech, Morocco taking place this weekend (13-14th of September).

After his heroics in Zurich, English returned to action last weekend in Rieti placing seventh in a time of 1.45.71. The field in Morocco brings together the year’s best 800m athletes including current World number one Nigel Amos of Botswana who has run 1.42.45 this year to lead the rankings.  Reigning European Champion Adam Kszczot of Poland is also in the field.

Mageean/Robinson/O'Lionaird

Ciara Mageean (UCD AC), Paul Robinson (St Coca’s AC) and Ciaran O’Lionaird (Leevale AC) all compete in the NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile in New York on Saturday, 13th of September. Mageean is coming off a fine second place performance in the mile race at the Great City Games in Newcastle; she will be aim to build on that performance in New York.

Robinson and O’Lionaird will take on some of the best milers in the World in the elite men’s race.

Nordic Walk Championships

On the same day Irish Race Walker Alex Wright (Leevale AC) will compete in the Nordic 20,000m Walk Championships in Copenhagen.
