Mary Cullen wins NCAA 5000m title

Mary Cullen, Sligo competing for Providence University was a comfortable winner of the NCAA 5000 metres in Sacramento California on Friday night in a time of 16.01.39. Mary will now return to Ireland to prepare for the European Championships in Gothenburg.This latest performance follows on from a great cross country season where Mary lead the Irish team in the European championships and also a splendid performance in the international cross country in Belfast in January. In a high quality meeting in Lille Ciara Sheehy ran 11.83 (+0.8 ) for 8th place in the 100 metres and 23.75 ( +0.7 ) for 7th place in the 200 metres.
