McMahon posts Euro standard

Christine McMahon (Ballymena &Antrim) was the star Irish performer at the EAP meeting in Geneva last weekend posting a new personal best of 56.42 seconds in the 400m Hurdles.

McMahon’s time moved her to number four on the Irish all-time list and qualified her for the European Athletics Championships Amsterdam in July.

There was a host of Irish athletes running in the predominantly sprints based meet where conditions fluctuated throughout the day. Craig Lynch (Shercock) was the fastest Irish men’s 400m runner on the day with 47.34. To view the full results of Geneva HERE

McMahon will compete in Nivelles, Belgium this weekend alongside a number of other Irish athletes. You can see the entry lists HERE

Meanwhile there are Irish in action Lucerne this evening – among them are Kerry O’Flaherty (Newcastle) in the 3,000m steeplechase and Marcus Lawler (SLOT) in the 200m.

The GV Ryan's take place in Irishtown Stadium on Friday in conjunction with the Irish Milers Club.
