Medals in Nottingham
The Irish team scored three team medals at the SIAB Schools Cross Country International Cross Country in Nottingham today (March 24) .
The junior women’s team won team bronze led home by Cara Laverty (Thornhill College) in 11th, Victoria Lightbody (Wallace High School) in 13th, Emma Landers (Pobailscoil na Trionoide) in 14th, Roisin O’Brien (Sacred Heart Westport) in 15th, Hannah Kehoe (Loreto Kilkenny) in 19th, Shauna McCarthy (Killorglin Community School) in 23rd, Saoirse O’Brien (Colaiste Iosagain) in 28th, and Eleanor Godden (Loreto Kilkenny) in 33rd.
The junior boys were fouth with Scott Fagan (Luttrellstown Community College) the first home in 13th. Oisin Toye (Delle College Raphoe) was next in 16th, followed by Matthew Beveridge (Colerain Grammar School) in 21st, Jake Stafford (Campbell College) in 24th, Dylan McBride (Grosvenor Grammar) in 26th, Oscar Lubliner (Blackrock College) in 29th, Luke Griffin (St Flannan’s, Ennis) in 30th and Callum McDonagh (St Colman’s, Newry) in 31st.
The intermediate girls bagged bronze with Niamh O’Mahony (Presentation Tralee) in 12th, Orla Reidy (Maynooth PP) in 16th, Holly Brennan (Sacred Heart, Drogheda) in 18th, HannahO’Keeffe (Loreto Kilkenny) in 21st, Sorcha Mullan (Loreto Omagh)in 25th, Katie Agnew (Ballymena Academy) in 26th, Tara Ramasawmy (Presentation S.S. Waterford) in 28th and Bethany Nixon (Banbridge Academy) in 29th.
The intermediate boys rounded out the Irish involvement with a fine silver with England the runaway victors once more.
Thomas Connolly was first home in (CBC Cork) 10th followed by Michael Morgan (Summerhill College) in 11th, Louis O’Loughlin (Moyle Park College) in 13th, Adam Ferris (St Malachy’s College) in 14th, Michael McCaul (St Colman’s College Newry) in 15th, John Fanning (Belvedere College) in 17th, Jake Cullen (Dunshaughlin Community College) in 27th, and Sean Donoghue (St Declan’s College) in 29th.
