Eva Massey breaks shot record - Ulster schools results - 15 National records so far this year - Crusaders Summer School
Eva Massey (North Down AC) set a new Northern Ireland Women’s shot putt record of 16m60 when competing as a guest at the Loughborough International meeting on Sunday. Eva's throw erased Mary Peters mark (16.31) thrown more than 30 years ago and that Eva has been chasing for many seasons, putting 30cm on her best throw from the odyssey in 2003. "I am absolutely delighted. It is something I have been wanting to achieve for so many years," she said. Massey currently tops the British rankings and could be selected for Britain for the European Cup in June. "I've had so many injury problems in recent years. I had a wrist injury which needed surgery and I missed all my winter training this year because of a prolapsed disc in my back," added Massey. Massey will compete for Northern Ireland at this weekend's UK Inter counties championships in Bedford. KitKat Ulster Schools Boys ResultsGirls Results
