Full second round results - upcoming events National League Santry ResultsNational League Tullamore ResultsLeargas “YOUTH in Action” Programme 2007-2013 Regional Workshop -Cork Clarion Hotel Cork City 10th September 2008 (9.30am - 5pm) This will be the only Youth In Action Programme workshop in the Munster region during 2008. If you are interested in or planning European projects in 2008-09 ensure you register. The day will start with a general update and overview of the Youth In Action programme and the activities funded. You will receive both technical and practical information on the programme and its activities. This will be followed by a carousel of interactive workshops exploring the priorities and developments of the YIA programme and actual experience and project management across the YIA Programme activities. You will be able to choose your preferences from the Workshops listed below: * AM 1. Youthpass 2. Youth Participation 3. Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities 4. Citizenship 5. Intercultural Learning * PM 1. Youth Exchanges 2. Youth Initiatives 3. Youth Democracy and Youth Policy 4. European Voluntary Service 5. Training & Networking In addition to the workshops there will be an extensive library and information area or resources and tools and an update on Next steps, contact making and training opportunities Because of the carousel format it will be useful if you register more than one person from your organisation – this way you can access the learning from more than one topic for your planning A limited number of places are available - Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Lunch is included and has proven a useful networking opportunity. Register BY 25th July 2008 to lgilligan@leargas.ie or cbarcelo@leargas.ie ‘Share the Dream’ Beijing bound Roisin McGettigan and Fionnuala Britton will head the programme for the ‘Share the Dream’ meet in Charlesland Sport & Recreation Park, Greystones on Friday June 27th. The elite women’s 1500m promises to be the best run on Irish soil this year with both girls hoping for a fast time. Joining them is fellow Slí Cualann athlete Deirdre Byrne who is in amazing shape. Deirdre ran 4.10 in Watford last weekend and has her sights firmly set on the 4-07 Olympic standard. The home club is hoping for good support locally to show appreciation for the first county’s first Olympians. Top Wicklow athletes Darragh Graham & Brian Farrell will also be in action and Eileen O’Keefe is also scheduled to throw. This promises to be an exhibition of throwing as the ever improving Aoife Hickey is so far, the only other entrant in the Hammer. Entry to the event is FREE. Events start at 6-00pm with juvenile events with the 3000m Walk kicking off the Senior programme at 6-45pm. Bohermeen Athletic Club Co Meath 1927-2008 Promotes 23rd Patrick Bell Memorial Road Race and Walk Friday June 20th at 8pm 2008 Venue: Bohermeen Community Centre, Co.Meath Entries close at 7-30pm In aid of Meath Autism Network special projects Awards Men 1st 6 athletes across the line. 1st 5 teams of 4 to count .The winning team of 6 wins the Paddy Murtagh perpetual cup. 1st 3 juniors, 1st 2 teams of 3 to count. Anyone from U/20 down can count on the team. 1st 3 Meath novice grade 2008. Masters 1st 3 0/35, 0/40, 0/45, 0/50, 0/55, 0/60. Please note the overall winner of the men’s race receives the beautiful Patrick Bell memorial trophy for 1 year. The team of 6 category can consist of any combination of senior junior or masters athletes. Ladies 1st 6 athletes across the line. 1st 3 teams of 4 to count .The winning team of 4 receives the Mallon perpetual cup. 1st 3 junior, 1st 2 teams of 3 to count . Anyone from U/20 down can count on the team. Masters 1st 3 0/35, 0/40, 0/45, 0/50, 0/55, 0/60. Each finisher will receive a medallion when they finish the 5k, either running or walking. There is a special award for the family with the largest representation inclusive of running and walking. There is also a special award to the club who has the largest representation. There are also loads of spot prizes. Following the 5k we invite you to enjoy some live music and barbeque, enjoy the big running and walking social event of mid summer week. We promise an unforgettable evening of fun and culture, and enjoy the smell of a good turf fire. Right into mid summers day. The promotion takes place on traffic free country roads and in 2007 over 300 people took part. Spot prizes on offer and refreshments of all nature to enjoy .Watch the after race video . Pitch the tent and stay a while . Entry fee for the 5k is 15 euro if you are over age 20 and 6 euro under 20 down.
