James Nolan under 4 minutes for Mile and Martin Fagan under 8 minutes for 3,000m Erin Kinnear smashed her own Irish indoor pole vault record in Florida yesterday. Her best effort of 3.87m bettered her previous effort of 3.75m. She also holds the Irish outdoor record with 3.93m. At the Reebok Boston Indoor Games James Nolan finished fourth in a top class field, dipping under the four minute barrier with 3:58.85. At the same meet Alistair Cragg was fourth in the 3,000m in 7:52.68 in a race won by Craig Mottram in 7:39.24. And Mary Cullen also filled the fourth place spot with her effort in the women’s 3,000m, going well under nine minutes to clock 8:53.81. In Australia David Campbell was second over 800m with a time of 1:52.09. The Boston College Terrier meet saw Martin Fagan win a thrilling 3,000m in a blanket finish with a time of 7:55.06.
