The AAI Board recently approved five key team management positions. They are Senior T & F Manager, Cross Country and Roads Manager, Development Manager, Junior Manager and Youth Manager. These positions are currently advertised on the website and applications are invited from suitable candidates for the positions. There will be an interview panel and each of the positions will be filled by May to allow the prospective managers to prepare for their role. This is a major development for the sport as it allows suitable candidates to put their names forward and they will be interviewed in a transparent process. AAI is committed to providing the best possible personnel and service to their international teams and this is part of the ongoing development within the sport. Following the appointment of the Director of Coaching, AAI is now seeking to build the remainder of the coaching department. There are five National Event Coordinator positions being advertised to cover Endurance, Jumps, Throws, Walks and Sprints & Hurdles. These are part time positions and they will work in conjunction with the Director of Coaching to provide the technical leadership to improve the standards throughout the sport in Ireland. The new Development department is also expanding and there are vacancies for Regional Development Officers. These are full time positions and they are currently advertised on the website. For further information on any of these positions contact Brendan Hackett at ceo@athleticsireland.ie or 01 6251101
