Sarah Healy (UCD AC) has broken the Irish 3,000m record (U23) at the Palio Città della Quercia Rovereto meet in Italy this evening.
Healy posted a huge PB of 8.52.63 to break Sonia O'Sullivan’s U23 record which had stood since 1990.
The 6th place performance sees Healy move to 7th on the Irish all-time list and comes hot on the heels of her Olympic debut in Tokyo.
Healy was joined in the race by Roisin Flanagan who finished in 11th place with a brilliant personal best time of 8:57:79 to move up to 15th on the Irish all-time list.
Olympian Ellish Flanagan completed the stunning 3,000m race for the Irish trio, finishing in 12th place in a personal best time of 8:58:46.
