Healy shines at AAI National Indoor League Round 2

Round 2 of the National Indoor League showcased some brilliant early season form including a new National Junior Record in the 1500m at the AIT International Arena on Sunday January 26th.

National League titles went the way of Dublin City Harriers (W) for the fourth year in a row, and Clonliffe Harriers A.C. (M), both of whom looked well in control with consistent performances across both days. Raheny Shamrock ran DCH closest in the women's event, while Galway City Harriers and Nenagh Olympic picked up the silver and bronze in the men's event.

Phil Healy stamped her authority on the 200m showing some blistering early season form with a brilliant 23.28

Men 1500m

There was also impressive performances in the Men 1500m with Cian McPhillips securing a National Junior Record with a stunning 3.44.85. McPhillips extended away from Conall Hayes and Kevin McGrath before toughing it out to the line to secure the new national record.

The 1500m Women saw Annette Quaid secure first place in 4.31.23 ahead of Jodie McCann who has shown great early form including a National U23 title at the same event 24 hours earlier.

The High Jump belonged to Clonliffe Harriers with both Keith Marks and Shannon Sheedy looking impressive.

Triple Jump

Saragh Buggy stamped her class on the Triple Jump with a best jump of 12.50, while Matt Cotter was best of the men with 12.81.
