Saturday 14th June 2008 at the Antrim Forum. 200m The 2007 event turned out to be extremely successful with a record number of athlete entries ranging from primary school children to senior athletes. Many of our local stars will be hoping to return to Antrim for the highlight of the season, including current World IPC Record Holder Jason Smyth, sprinters Anna Boyle and Amy Foster, middle distance stars Kelly Reid, Kerry Harty and young superstar Ciara Mageean not to mention shot putter Eva Massey, Joe McAllister and Gary Coulter. An interesting battle may ensue in the 1500m between Gareth Turnbull and James Nolan if he competes. Other notable names include Stephen Scullion and Noel Collins both who have improved their form over their events in the last couple of months. A number of international athletes will also be due to compete and will be confirmed shortly- last year saw Slovakian Martin Kalafus in the High Jump and Brad Woods from Australia race in the 800m.
