Nomination Policy Confirmed for Rio 2016

The nomination policy has now been released for the 2016 Olympic Games which takes place in Rio, Brazil from the 10th-18th of August. Irish athletes who have achieved the standard already in 2015 since the qualification window opened for the marathon, 50km Race Walks & All Relays (1st January 2015) and All Other Events (1st May 2015) are: Mark English (UCD AC) – 800m, Thomas Barr (Ferrybank AC) – 400m Hurdles, Alex Wright (Leevale AC) – 20km Race Walk, Brendan Boyce (Letterkenny AC) – 50km Race Walk, Rob Heffernan (Togher AC) – 50km Race Walk, Breege Connolly (North Belfast Harriers AC) – Marathon.
