REECE ADEMOLA SETS NATIONAL U20 RECORD AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Reece Ademola began Team Irelands campaign at the World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali this evening. The Leevale Long Jumper took to the pits at 5:45pm, reaching 7.76m in his opening round. It was to be the longest jump of his Group, and the fourth longest jump overall. It will see Ademola advance to the final tomorrow, (August 2nd10:16pm Irish time).

Alongside securing a place in the final, Ademola’s jump set the National U20 Record to 7.76m, outdoing his previous 7.68m record, set just last month in Cork.

Ademola moves to fourth place on the Irish All Time List, behind Johnathon Kron’s 7.79m jump set in 1994.
