TUS Athlone will play host to three exhilarating days of athletics competition as athletes go in search of national glory at the 123.ie Juvenile Indoor Championships which take place across March 23rd, April 6th, and April 7th.
All three days will be streamed live on the Athletics Ireland Youtube channel.
The 4x200m relays will headline the track action on day 1 (March 20th) with a bumper entry set to take to the start line across the even and uneven age categories.
Competition in the field events will get this Saturday’s championships underway from 10am with action-a-plenty in the shot put and triple jump.
National senior shot put champion, Andrew Cooper (Gowran AC), will headline the U19 competition from 2.10pm with the Gowran AC athlete likely to take gold once more following dominate displays at seniors and the u20 championships already this season.
The girl’s U18 shotput competition should be an enthralling affair with Caoimhe Gallen (Lifford Strabban AC) and Ava Jean Anderson (Tir Chonaill) set to take their places in the circle from 12.50pm.
The girl's U19 triple jump competition will see the return of Leagh Moloney of Dooneen AC who claimed the U20 silver medal in January with a best leap of 11.27m. Darragh Fahy (Loughrea AC) is one not to be missed in the boy’s U18 triple jump from 1.45pm with the Loughrea athlete having taken the U20 gold with an impressive 12.52m
