Rome 2024: Irish men's relay teams confirmed for European Championship heats

The Irish Men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams have been confirmed ahead of their respective heats at the European Athletics Championships in Rome today (June 12th).

The Men’s 4x400m team will be first in action at 9:45am Irish Time.

Jack Raftery (Donore Harriers), Christopher O’Donnell (North Sligo AC), Sean Doggett (Athenry AC) and Callum Baird (Ballymena and Antrim AC) will run in that order.

17-year-old Doggett will be making his senior international debut.

The 4x100m team comprises of Bori Akinola (UCD AC), Mark Smyth (Raheny Shamrock AC), Colin Doyle (Leevale AC) and Israel Olatunde (Tallaght AC). Their heat is down for decision at 11am.

The women’s 4x400m team will be confirmed later this morning after team management, medical staff and athletes have had the opportunity to gauge recovery following individual events.
