Round 2 of the AAI National League took place at TUS Athlone and SETU Carlow today (July 31st), with a host of impressive team and individual performances across the two venues.

In Carlow, it was Leevale (118 points) securing top spot in the women’s division 1 competition, aided by Fatima Amusa’s 25.45 win in the 200m. An impressive Waterford (134 points) team finished top of the standings thanks to a great showing in the relays. DSD AC (129 points) finished top in the women’s premier with Jennifer Hanrahan claiming the full points allocation thanks to her 25.68 200m. Nenagh Olympic (127 points) finished in top spot in the premier competition, owing to a strong performance in the jumps events from Joe Minter (LJ 6.79m) and Joe McEvoy (HJ 1.85m).
Tir Chonaill (128 points) finished in top spot in the division 1 competition in Athlone, owing to a very strong showing in the field events. The Ratoath AC (149 points) team impressed throughout the day in the women’s competition, securing maximum points in 10 events. In the premier, it was Tipperary County (155 points) topping the table, aided by World Relay finalist Sharlene Mawdsley who crossed in first place in the 200m (24.07). Donore Harriers (122 points) were top of the men’s premier standings thanks to a strong showing in the endurance events.
