Ireland’s Sarah Lavin has secured her place in the World Athletics Championships semi-final with a superb sub 13-second performance in heat 3 of the 100m hurdles in Oregon this evening (July 23rd).
Running from lane 4, Lavin powered out of her blocks and maintained a fluent rhythm to secure the final automatic qualifying place.
It continues the remarkable season for the Emerald AC athletes who became the first Irish athlete in 12 years to make it to the World Indoor final in Belgrade back in March.

Lavin will return to the track in the early hours of Monday morning (1.10am Irish time) as she bids to make it to another world final.

Day 10 (Sunday 24th / Monday 25th)
- 2.15pm Brendan Boyce 35k Walk
Brendan Boyce will be the final Irish athlete to make his debut at the 2022 edition of these championships. Boyce has a history of performing on the big stage, finishing 6th in 2019 World Championships in Doha (50K), missing out on a medal by under three minutes. Oregon will mark the 5th straight World Championships for the Finn Valley athlete.
