Ireland’s Sarah Lavin has secured her place in the World Athletics Championships semi-final with a superb sub 13-second performance in heat 3 of the 100m hurdles in Oregon this evening (July 23rd).

Running from lane 4, Lavin powered out of her blocks and maintained a fluent rhythm to secure the final automatic qualifying place.

It continues the remarkable season for the Emerald AC athletes who became the first Irish athlete in 12 years to make it to the World Indoor final in Belgrade back in March.

Race result (100m Hurdles - Heat 3):

1 Tobi AMUSAN 12.40 AR

2 Danielle WILLIAMS 12.87

3 Sarah LAVIN 12.99

Lavin will return to the track in the early hours of Monday morning (1.10am Irish time) as she bids to make it to another world final.
