The Juvenile committee are pleased to announce that they are bringing an U17 International Development team to the Scottish championships on the weekend of 16th – 18th of August at Grangemouth, Scotland. These championships are an excellent opportunity for our young athletes to gain vital experience in an international setting outside of Ireland and help them to gain confidence to reach their goals.
Selection Criteria
Please note thatnot every event will be offered due to caps on numbers set by the organisers
- The winning athlete of each U17 event at the National Juvenile Championships may be offered a place on the International Development Team.
- The athlete must complete an acceptance form at the time of their medal ceremony at the National Championships including the written consent of their parent/guardian. Due to the very short time frame from our Championships to the closing date it is imperative that athletes are able to commit to the team on the day or the place may be offered to the next best athlete.
- The athlete must be in possession of a current passport to be able to travel outside the country to the UK.
- If the winning athlete does not wish to be considered the next athlete may be offered that place
- It is a condition of accepting a place that the athlete commits to be available to travel with the team on the morning of Friday the 16th of August 2024, returning on the evening of Sunday the 18th of August 2024.
- The committee does not guarantee that every winning athlete will be selected due to the cap on numbers and more than one athlete may be selected for an event if space is available.
