Great Ireland Mile
Returning for its third year, an elite male, one mile race will again be staged on a spectator friendly route on Chesterfield Avenue in the Phoenix Park.
The distance is a test of speed and endurance that is punishing for the athlete, but captivating for the spectator.
It was Roger Bannister who became the first man to officially record a sub-four minute time back in May 1954, resulting in the rise of pacemakers at the top level of the sport.
The intensity of the mile race is special on its own, but when it is brought off the track and into an iconic setting then it becomes something all the more unmissable!
