Athletics Ireland is delighted to confirm that the transition of the governance and administration of para-athletics to Athletics Ireland, will be completed on the 1st of August 2026 when Para Athletics transitions to Athletics Ireland.

This transition represents a significant and positive milestone in the continued development of para-athletics across Ireland. Through this alignment, athletes will benefit from enhanced pathways, greater integration, and strengthened support structures at all levels of participation and performance.

We extend our gratitude to Paralympics Ireland and Sport Ireland for its ongoing guidance and support throughout this transition phase.

We also acknowledge the valued contribution of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and stakeholders across athletics whose input and engagement have ensured that athlete welfare and development remain at the heart of this transition.

This transition comes at an exciting time for Athletics Ireland as we head into a very busy summer of Track & Field.
