Strong schools team set for Swansea

A strong Irish schools’ team are set to compete in Swansea for the SIAB Schools’ International tomorrow (July 20).

Athletes who starred in the All Ireland’s and Tailteann Games will be representing Ireland and looking for strong showings.

Among them include Aaron Shorten (St Laserian’s) in the 800m, Matteo Mary (St Declan’s Kilmacthomas) in the 1500m, Gergely Pap (CBS Wexford) in the shot put and discus, Helen Ikpotokin (Colaiste Iosagain) 300m and relay, Victoria Lightbody (Wallace High School) in the 800m, Laura Frawley (St Mary’s Charleville) in the high jump and long jump, and Aoibhinn McMahon (St Vincent’s Dundalk) in the javelin and the shot put.
