Strong showing from schools’ team in Swansea

Matthew Glennon led a 1-2 for Ireland in the 3k walk with James Hanlon in second - Glennon clocked 13:26.06 with Hanlon walking 14:28.87 - on a competitive day of athletics at the Schools' International (SIAB) in Swansea.

Tadhg O’Muircheartaigh was second in the javelin with 61.00m

Orla Coffey was second in the pole vault with 3.56m. Victoria Lightbody third in the 800m in 2:10.96. Girls’ captain Aoibhinn McMahon was second in the shot put in 14.65m.

 The team finished second overall along with both boys’ and girls’ teams finishing second behind dominant England teams as is the norm at this level.
