New Breed reaches halfway stage

The New Balance New Breed Schools Initiative has been rolling out at pace in search of the next generation of Irish athletes and encouraging a new wave of participation. Last week David Gillick visited Temple Carrig, Greystones, Presentation College Carlow, Tullamore College, Colaiste Mhuire Mullingar with Athletics Ireland taking the students through three main tests: standing long jump; vertical jump and timed sprint throught electronic speedgates.

Gillick gives his reflections on the visits to date below and you can also watch a video of the launch that gives a good insight into the programme.
