The inaugural Killarney 10 mile road race will be taking place in the beautiful surroundings of Killarney on Saturday 27th  September and we hope to make this race an annual event.  The race is an ideal training race for any athletes intending to run the Dublin City Marathon in October, and also an ideal opportunity to visit Killarney. There will be special rates available to participants in the following hotels:  Hotel Killarney, The Holiday Inn, Gleneagle Hotel, The Brehon, The Killarney Plaza and the Towers Hotel or check out any of the great deals available at any of the B and B’s in the town.  

All information is available on the website www.killarney10.com  and competitors, along with their families are invited to join with organisers/personalities at a post race get-together in the Killarney Plaza Hotel at 9.00pm on Saturday night.

The race is part of a major fundraising drive to raise funds to build a 200m micro track, with astro turf centre, in the grounds of St Brendans College, Killarney.  Full planning permission has been granted and the fundraising has begun in earnest. 

We have many promising young athletes in this part of the country and to ensure their continued participation in the sport, the provision of this track is vital.  The 4 lane track will have a 120m straight and long/triple jump pits, pole vault/high jump and shot putt areas.
