Cashel Riordan was a well-known and respected athlete and starter in Cork. It was with sadness that the association learned of his passing. The removal will be Tuesday evening at 7pm at St Michael's Church, Blackrock and the funeral at 11am on Wednesday.
He competed for UCC from 1958-1963. He represented UCC 11 times & IUAA 8 times in the 100yds , 200yds , 440yds and 4 X 110yds.

In the records of best male performances in 100yds from 1927-1971 he was ranked joint 1st along with John Kilpatrick, QUB with a time of 9.80.
Cashel was also very closely associated with Cork City Sports being their chief starter for many years. He was always so distinguished looking at the start in his whites.
