Tonosa and Mullen win GIR and national 10k titles

Hiko Tonosa (DSD) and Catherina Mullen (MSB) took the honours at the Great Ireland Run 10k and with it the national titles at a windswept Phoenix Park today (April 14).

Catherina Mullen (MSB) won her first national title with a strong run in 34:52 holding off Barbara Cleary (Donore Harriers) in second in 35:18 and Grace Lynch (Iveragh) in third in 35:33.

It was a maiden national title for Hiko Tonosa who won the men’s race in 30:41 having sat on Kevin Dooney (Raheny Shamrock). The Raheny athlete had to settle for second with 30:44. Declan Reed (City of Derry Spartans) had an excellent run for third in 31:07 and lead M45 athlete. Provisional individual results HERE
