Some of Ireland's top and emerging throwers turned out for the annual Dunboyne AC Winter Throws competition across Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th February.

The event attracted one of it's biggest ever entries as athletes were keen to get back into action ahead of travelling to the European Throwing Cup, with particpants travelling rom as far off as Wexford, West Cork,  Mayo, Donegal and Belfast.

Nicola Tuthill (Bandon AC) was the star of the show with a qualifying standard in the hammer of 60.92m for the World Under 20 Championships later this year in Cali, Colombia.

Eoin Sheridan also was very impressive in the discus with 53.52m in a wind that was not helpful at all.

Day 2 saw Oisin Joyce (Lake District AC) produced a personal best of 60.60m with the 700g implement.

Congratulations to all the athletes that represented their clubs so well on the day.
