Cork’s Nicola Tuthill (UCD AC) posted an impressive round of throws to claim a second-place finish in the Hammer competition at the European Team Championships in Poland today (June 20th).
The Cork athlete saw five of her six throws break the 66-meter mark, with the best of them coming in at an impressive 67.85m which bettered her own U23 Irish record (66.57).

The performance helped Ireland to second place on the overall team standings following the opening day of competition. A further 25 events will take place over the next two days of competition, with Ireland hoping to remain in the top three positions which would guarantee promotion into division 2.
