The singlet worn by Derval O Rourke to win silver and a signed singlet by the entire Irish team in Gothenburg are being auctioned for charity Trademania is a registered charity that is involved in refurbishing orphanages in Romania. In particular, they have links with an orphanage for children with learning difficulties in Bacau, Romania. They typically send a team of 12-16 volunteers to Romania every summer to carry out whatever building, repair and decoration work needs doing in the orphanage. As you can imagine, this work is very expensive and Trademania are constantly trying to raise funds to allow them to carry out this essential humanitarian work. As such, they are currently holding an auction for two items of athletics memorabilia that every Irish athletics fan will want to own: • The ACTUAL singlet worn by Derval O’Rourke when she historically won the silver medal at the European Championships in Gothenburg, as well as her IRL relay identification. Both pieces have been signed by Derval!! • An Irish athletics singlet signed by every member of the European Championships team, including all of the management team! Both of these items are one-of-a-kind, with nothing similar in existence! As such, they are truly historic athletics memorabilia and this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get your hands on them!! Initial bids have already been received for Derval’s singlet, with the current highest bid in the region of €550, but Trademania hopes that this figure can climb much higher and eventually get close to the €1000 mark. This is the first public notification of the second item and, as such, there are no current bids, but it is hoped that this piece would fetch a similar price to bolster the efforts of Trademania and help the children of Bacau in an enormous way If you would like to bid for either of these historic items you can do so by emailing the following address: Trademaniaauction@hotmail.com Please send your name and contact details, or those of your organisation, along with your bid/inquiry. If you would like to find out more information regarding Trademania, its work and the auction, you can contact Richard McCarthy on 0851639944. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ATHLETICS IRELAND with regard to this this is solely the work of Trademania
