Four Irish athletes took to competition at the World Race Walking Team Championships in Turkey on Sunday, April 21st.

Moy Valley’s Seamus Clarke led out the Irish in the U20 men’s 10km race.  Clarke came home in 40th place in a new personal best of 44:45 which bettered the 45:03 set in Dudince back on March 16th.

Joe Mooney (Adamstown AC) was Ireland’s sole representative in the senior men’s 20km race. Monney battled bravely to finish 55th in 1:27:09.

Ireland's marathon race walk mixed relay team of Kate Veale (West Waterford AC) and Brendan Boyce (Finn Valley AC) were unlucky with Boyce picking up an injury after 5km on the first leg of the relay which resulted in a DNF.
