Combined Events Preview and Entry
The GloHealth Indoor Combined Events take place in Athlone IT this Saturday (January 23rd) with a number of young stars looking to continue their upward curve.
Elizabeth Morland (Cushinstown) is down on the list in the junior women's category and the World Youth Championships 10th placer will be looking to show her class once more having had a relatively quiet build-up to the Championships. In the Youth category, Kate O'Connor (Dundalk), has been making waves this indoor season with impressive performances in the Schools' Championships and should star once more in Athlone. Other top competitors in the women's Youth section include Molly Scott (St Laurence O'Toole) and Shannon Sheehy (Cushinstown) in what is a strong age group.
Joseph Miniter (St Mary's Clare) should feature in the Youth men while Darra Deane (Lake Districts), Brian Flynn (Lusk) and Peter O'Connor (Enniscorthy) will battle it out in the junior men. Shane Aston (Trim) looks to be the favourite in the senior men's with Donal Kearns (Cushinstown) and Mark Rogers (St Peter's) looking to have an impact.
Laura Frey (Lagan Valley) should feature prominently in the senior women's along with Amy McTeggart (Boyne).
The O35 men's looks to be competitive with Ger Cremin (An Riocht) one of the favourites Joe Frey (Lagan Valley) should feature in the O50. Prolific medallist Geraldine Finnegan (North East Runners Dundalk) will be in contention once more in the women's O50.
