ADELEKE LOWERS HER OWN IRISH 300M RECORD IN ARKANSAS

14 February 2026

Rhasidat Adeleke

Rhasidat Adeleke (Tallaght AC) made a welcome return to the track tonight, lowering her own Irish 300m record in the United States.

Racing for the first time since July 2025, the 23-year-old Dubliner clocked an impressive time of 36.30 seconds to finish second at the Tyson Invitational indoor meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This takes 0.12 seconds off her previous national record for the event (36.42) that had stood since February 2024.

Victory went the way of Stacey-Ann Williams (Jamaica) who crossed the line in 35.92 seconds.

Elsewhere, Lucy-May Sleeman (Leevale AC) continued her indoor season, clocking 7.28 seconds over 60m on Friday night at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina, a season’s best. The time is also under the Athletics Ireland World Indoor Championship ‘B’ standard.

Sleeman returned to the track tonight and raced in the 200m, lowering her PB to 23.68 seconds, moving her to ninth on the Irish indoor all-time list for the event.

This morning at the Perth Track Classic in Australia, Laura Nicholson (Bandon AC) was fourth in the Women’s 1500m, just outside her personal best, running a time of 4:07.52.
